映客直播 has received $11,190 from the聽State Council of Higher Education for Virginia聽(SCHEV)聽to聽support on-campus initiatives addressing聽student聽food insecurity.聽

 to 48 public and private institutions of higher education in the Commonwealth. The grants are funded by the , enacted by the General Assembly in 2025. 

鈥淭his grant will directly strengthen our ability to ensure that no student has to choose between meeting basic needs and focusing on their education,鈥 Vice President for Student Success, Well-being, and Belonging Tiffany Hinton said. 鈥淭he award will allow us to expand and enhance our campus food pantry by improving storage capacity, increasing access to nutritious and culturally responsive food options, and implementing systems that help us maintain a consistent supply.鈥

鈥淚’m so excited for the possibilities ahead to expand access, recognize our wonderful volunteers, and create consistency and excellent resources through the pantry,鈥 University Chaplain and Director of Interfaith Belonging Lindsey Moser said.  

鈥淯ltimately, this grant strengthens our mission to support the whole student and ensures that 映客直播 remains a caring, responsive community where every student has the opportunity to thrive,鈥 Hinton said. 

映客直播’ campus Food Pantry is located in duPont Chapel and is open Monday through Friday from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. It is part of the university chapel鈥檚 , which also includes the Free Store, Career Closet, and Campus Lactation Room. The center serves as a one-stop, welcoming space where students can access food, basic hygiene items, professional attire, and lactation support at no cost. 

鈥淲e are deeply grateful for funding from the General Assembly, as well as support from Reunion Weekend giving, the , and a coalition of alumni, faculty, staff, community partners, and donors,鈥 Hinton said. 鈥淭ogether, these investments allow 映客直播 to address student food insecurity and meet the diverse and evolving needs of our students.鈥
